ecu configuration file

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

ecu configuration file

Post by dexion7 »

I'm loading TS onto an office computer in order to play with maps etc there and since the ecu is in the car I obviously can't connect to the ecu.

when i try to open it, it asks which firmware i have and there is a 'detect' button. just get a message 'ECU configuration is required - please provide a valid ECU configuration file',

what do i enter in here?

is it possible to load TS onto a PC without an ecu to hand?

Just save the .MSQ onto a thumb drive at home. Then take it to the other PC with tuner studio on it and just double click on the .MSQ. Tuner studio should open it and if it doesn't have the config file it should just try to download it from the efi analytics site.

How are you opening the file?

To view a "random" MSQ in TunerStudio, close all projects (File -> Project -> Close Project) and just open the MSQ.

Alternatively, the "ECU configuration file" is the "ini" file that comes in the firmware zip. You can choose that when needed.

You can also save a project backup and load that on the desktop, then you will get all your dashboards and what not.

Or better yet, my preference is to put the TS project in dropbox/ one drive/ google drive / some drive..

Then you are always looking at your current set up and data logs are at your desktop to view in comfort with some real screens.

Tweak your tune at your desk looking at the data logs, then when you get back to your car you get the a difference report and send it to the controller.
