Enter key doesn't work when editing tables

Post by Reverant »

I'm not sure when this started happening...I open a 3D table to edit it (ie VE table 1), select a cell, start typing the number I want, hit Enter to apply the new value to RAM (not burn to flash) and nothing happens - like I never pressed Enter. If I press left/right/up/down, it does move out of the cell and apply the value. 2D tables (ie warmup enrichment work properly).

Also, double-clicking the cell doesn't allow me to edit the cell and pressing F2 doesn't allow me to edit the cell (I don't remember if this ever worked; old Excel habits die hard). This happens on both 2D and 3D tables.

I spent a day and a half trying to figure out when that started happening.

It turned out it was when the File dialogs started switching to detail view and sort by date. Quite oddly once you do that, all widgets based on a JTable no longer pay attention to the enter key.

In the release I put out yesterday the dialog sorting is disabled unless using Metal L&F so it should work again. It seemed that Metal was immune to this, but on the PC I just tried it on, Metal was effected.

I just updated to 3.0.23 and it looks like it is fixed?

Any thoughts on double-clicking a cell or pressing F2 to edit it?
