FR: Locking cell(s) on ignition advance table

FR: Locking cell(s) on ignition advance table

Post by BigBlockMopar »

Would like to see a option to possibly Lock down the value of certain spark advance cells on the ignition map. Perhaps with a simple Right-click on the cell(s).

Sometimes when working on the ignition map or while smoothing out a range of cells, occassional 'known good' advance numbers are changed for the worse.
For instance, I know my engine gives best intake vacuum when idling at 600rpm with 24 degrees advance. I would like to prevent that cell(-group) from being accidentally changed/modified during tuning.

Maybe color the cells background Gray or Black, making it clear which ones are locked?

Sounds like a lock similar to the one in VE Analyze cells, but prevents all form of editing.

To prevent confusion and keep consistency, it seems I would need to broaden that Lock to prevent user edits as well. Then it could be used for all tables.

Can't comment on how that would work as I haven't got any experience yet with VE-tables nor VE Analyze as my setup is only controlling ignition as of yet.
