Unexpected error occoured opening project

Post by Dutchredhead »

I was about to open my current tune file and got this error.
"Unexpected error occoured opening project"

I tried looking for the back-ups but that aint woring since the tune file cant open.
If I open an other tune file it can'n load the back-up of my other file.

How can I get my tune back up and running?
Can it download from the MS2? Cant seem to see how that works.

You should just be able to create a new project and then load your tune from your MS box.

I've encountered those errors a couple of times, but was able to go ahead after that without issues.

I have seen that message also and used the procedure I described above. Worked OK for me.

I'd like to know why it occurred. There ought to be a better remedy than "start again" and TunerStudio should be able to fix itself.

Couldnt agree more. It just wont go into that file again. Despite the individual file's are to be accesed.
Loaded the dash and .table files as well into a other project when I was trying to get it pieced back together.

I just opened a new project, loaded data from ECU, so i'm back up and running.
Thx Ken, it worked.

When this has been reported in the past, what I have found is the project.properties file was empty.
That makes the project invalid and it can't load. I have never been able to find anyone that can reproduce this, a few times it was shortly before their hard drive took a dump, other times that wasn't the case.

In TS 3.0.x, TS saves a backup of the project.properties so if it is corrupt or empty, it can fall back to that. It looks like in your case that didn't happen either. I would be interested in seeing your project to see if the backup is also empty?

Maybe a lousy USB connection could corrupt the transfer?
Come to think of it, I haven't seen these errors anymore lately, but I'm also using a different USB cable now that clips/hooks better into the tablet I'm using.
Before I was using a Chinese adapter from regular USB to mini-USB.

I was opening it off line. Wasn't connected to USB.
I can send the old files to you, Phil.
