Rolling back to previous versions

For discussion of Phil Tobin's Tuner Studio software (Only about the tuning software itself, not about how to tune or firmware features)

Rolling back to previous versions

Post by Intimidation 86 »

I am wondering if it is possible to roll back to a previous version of Tunerstudio
5 days ago I uploaded a new tune into my megasquirt with no issues..
The next day I connected my laptop and opened TS it automatically installed a new update from version 3.0.2 to 3.0.28
Now I am unable to get TS to communicate with my ecu... Port check shows the connection... I thought maybe I should update the firmware , so I did.. no issues with that.. but I still cannot get it to communicate with TS. Is there anyway I can roll back to the last version of TS which worked..

Are you getting any error?

Are you sure you updated from 3.0.2? (That is quite old and never a public release, the more recent stable version is 3.0.22)

Can you create a TunerStudio Debug Package from under the Help menu?

Where?

Ok, so it sounds like you are connecting fine, but it can not successfully read the tune data.

That debug package does not have your project in it. Was the Project not open?
No project means I can't see how things are setup.
Also it would be good if Comm Debug was turned on for a connection try..

However, what I can see in the log is that it is indeed finding the controller just fine, but gets a timeout on every attempt to read tune data.
The main thing that can cause this is if in Project Properties CAN_COMMANDS is turned off and you are set to the wrong CAN ID for the main controller.

Your MegaSquirt is still running on CAN ID 0, so check this:

- In TunerStudio with your project open, press CTRL+P
The Project Properties dialog should open.
- Click the "CAN Devices" tab
- Check the setting "Main Controller CAN ID"

That should be set to 0, if not, set that to 0 and click OK

If that isn't it, turn on Comm Debug and try to connect again. Make a new Debug Package and post / send.

Ok so I now have another issue
Since updating the firmware I am unable to get the engine to start..
ignition is firing I get plenty of spark but my injectors are not working
I tried using the port output test and am not getting any response from them ( I should be able to hear them buzz )
same results with both bank 1 and 2
any thoughts ???

If I plug in the factory ECU the car will start....

Not sure how this is a TunerStudio issue ?

If you have a setup issue, best to post with tune and log into one of the ECU specific support sections.
