Battery voltage too low configuration error message

I have been trying to get cold start to work and intermittently get this message. I recycle the ignition and all is well again. The error message gives me no clue where to look for the configuration error so I don't know what to fix.

Any ideas? I'll try to remember to screenshot it next time.

Thanks, Nigel.

Post a Data-Log next time and we may be able to see something.

Doesn't seem like a configuration error and it recovers immediately without charging.

This usually happens on the Miata during cranking when there's false sync and there's starter kickback due to an ignition event at the wrong time. It's somewhat annoying as most users can't tell that it has happened during cranking, and they keep cranking while the ECU is in error mode.

That fits. The last time it happened (last night) was during a failed start attempt, one of many. One had a backfire, but I don't remember if it immediately preceeded this message.
Is there any way to prevent the bad syncing?

I encountered it today... and edited the code to remove it for the next beta.

It was only in MS3.

Great, thank you.

Please have a look at the sync code for the 4G63 and Miata 99-05, there's at least 50% chance that there will be a starter kickback during cranking when the engine is cold.

It tends to get worse as the engine's static compression rises.
