Teensy 3.5 and 3.6 on Kickstarter

Postby Raymond_B » Thu Aug 18, 2016 7:29 pm

I am usually wary of crowdfunded stuff, especially tech, but Paul S. is solid. I like that the 3.6 has two CAN inputs.

I am not even really sure why he is kickstarting this? They already have a solid foundation and slowly moving to be a solid competitor to Arduino and mped.

Edit: Holy Crow. Paul went all out on the new board. So many featured packed into that thing it's insane. Now how do we convince him to work on Megasquirt 4 ;)

If you read the information, you'll see that he needs to use a new board manufacturer because the board is now a 6-layer board. That means it's best to go with the largest possible initial batch to keep costs low and a good way to do this is through kickstarter. At least, that's my take on it.

Paul needs to sort a 5V version, not a MCU that is 5V tolerate but a fully 5V device, 5V adc and such. That would adapt over to automotive use easier.
