I find it hard to confirm to myself if the MS2 CANBUS is able to directly communicatie/work with CANBUS instruments.

Was looking into SPeedhut instruments, amongst others. Their support desk can't confirm MS2 to work and the support page is made arround standard OBD CAN communication.

I'm trying to confirm the CAN protocol they rever to, J1979 is what MS2 can work with.

Second to that, when OBDII is J1979 CANBUS and MS2 would indeed be able to work with, would that imply I could have a BMW E90 cluster work with that CANBUS signal as well?

No, that's not supported.

Your dash is extremely unlikely to be using J1979, almost certainly it will use proprietary, undocumented raw messages on the CAN.

And with DIY on their support page it has a list of meters/applications that would work.

What is the "Simplified Dash Broadcasting" refering to? What sort of dash instruments? That is what confuses me here.

Any aftermarket programmable dash that supports that data format.
