Security system suggestion

Post by Nightstalker1993 »

Hi there, I would like to ask if there is such a feature, if not, I would like to suggest it.

Most people would install some kind of kill switch as a security feature, I was thinking since I already have a clutch switch, it would be great to like, tell the ECU only to start the car on condition that the clutch switch is engaged, and TPS above 90%. This would render the car impossible to start if a thief breaks into it. A simple fuel pump cut would be easy to bypass and alarm system cuts are also easily bypassed. By implemanting a security feature directly in the ECU, it is IMPOSSIBLE to start the engine unless said person knows the procedure.

Thanks guys!

i already did that but in another way i wanted to make a start engine button to only work when the car is not running and disable it when it is running to prevent starter break
simply you will program 2 things 1 input and 1 output
the input can be a switch like clutch switch or starter button and the ouput can be to drive a relay 85 pin which can drive a pump or even a starter
and in the programmable on/off select the output you used then in the active conditions use your inputs with a condition like here:

where porteh and portk are the port numbers for 2 different inputs on the MS3X cards

Arranging the MS to only start of what amounts to full throttle doesn't sound like a good idea to me. You'd have to disable the flood clear.

Any form of immobilisation can be circumvented by a clever thief. Or if they really want the car, they can tow it away. All you can do is make things as difficult as possible for a joy rider.

Also, be sure to consider what happens if you stall in a junction and need to re-start the car in a hurry to get out of the way of the incoming lorry.

This is what I did:
http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 31&t=53836

In summary... Connected the Alarm to the MS so when the Alarm is active and the immobiliser output is active the MS has switched to an alternative fuel map and alternative "Req Fuel", which are all zero. So when immobiliser is active the engine has no fuel.

It works.

What would be better is a "Not immobilised" function, so the Alarm has to assert that the engine can run. This would mean that even if the alarm is chopped the car still will not run.
