One TS bug and one wishlist item?

Post by Rickster »

Possible TS bug:
In the I/O testing screen, the Nitrous2 pulsed output does not appear to be working, it seems to behave as a simple on/off test mode? Either that or it is not honoring the chosen frequency and/or pulse width (my LED probe wont noticeably flash)?

Wishlist Item:
Datalog LED output - The current behavior seems to be a lit condition when the card is ready, flashing slow while logging is active and a fast pulse followed by the solid ready state when logging is stopped.
I would like to see an option to have the LED off when not logging, and solid light when logging. turning logging off would flash followed by an LED off state.

This way I wouldn't have to look at a lit LED constantly when not logging

Also, I would like to see an input testing mode for the inputs. I was trying to test all mt inputs, but was only able to find a way to test the dlog input because it has a nice indicator at the bottom of TS when it is active. The others (ntr-in, tbl-sw, lnch-in) I'm not sure how to test those on the bench?

Thanks,

Rick

The other inputs should be testable. You have to translate the common name input to the port names, which are listed in the manuals, then you can see which PORTxx they light up when grounded (except that Nitrous one that operates on +12v?)

All of the ports/pins and indicators are listed in the manual

I like the SDcard status as-is. If it was off, it would be the same as no card present. I designed it as a postive confirmation that we are ready to go and use it before each run on a car I help with.

I tested Nitrous 2 pulsed on the (just released) latest pre-1.4 firmware and it works ok.

I did figure out why the Nitrous2 output would not pulse for me while using the IO testing screen. I had it selected for the SD card datalog LED. For some reason it does not let go of that selected port when test mode is enabled.

Thanks,

It doesn't "let go."
