VSS input to measure turbo speed

Post by ol boy »

I'm interested in measuring my turbos compressor wheel speed during different driving conditions. I've found several optical speed sensor pick ups from a few places. Most put out a simple raising/falling edge signal at 1 pulse per Rev. Triggered off of that white paint mark on one fin. I assume there would need to be some sort of scaler of 1to100 or so. 1000 would really equal 100,000 rpm.. any ideas?

Yep, we're using this on our 240SX land speed car.

I'm using the generic shaft speed too on my HE351VE with 1 pulse per rev.
