Decoder request for mitsu 6g75

Post by TheRealLawless »

Hello, I'm trying to get a standalone system going for the 4g eclipse. We didn't get any love. If I could get some help on a definition on how to program the ms3, it would take out a large chunk of the R&D on my part.
Here's a picture of the crank signal and it's waveform. It's a 12-1, 12-1, 12-1

The cam... Idk how to even describe it. Here's the trigger it uses and it's waveform.

Thank you very much for any kind of help you can assist with this. I'm just an enthusiast and ill equipped.

That's an unsual crank and cam pattern for sure.

Next step, I could do with a composite log from the MS3 with "log crank and cam" enabled as the ignition mode. That will give a relationship between the two signals and show the pattern that the Megasquirt is seeing.

So I would need to purchase the ms3 first to use the logger... I'm really new to this game so please don't take offense, but if I got this information logged how likely could you honestly make a profile for it?

Would it be beneficial for me to put cylinder1 at tdc and take a snap shot of the cam and crank correlation positions?

Photos of crank and cam phasing with engine at TDC and indication of direction of rotation is a required start.
Adding a 2 channel scope trace would be better. The MS3 composite log is best.

If I got those photos, would it be enough to maybe get a map going to make it idle?

It would help, but it would be a bit of a guess without the exact angular information from the cam.

Got the approval from the wife to use some tax money to get ms3! Got my mother in law that soldered pcb boards for Cessna! AIR PLANES PEOPLE!! If her solders are good enough for human lives, I'm sure they're good enough for cars. So that'll save another 300ish.

Does anybody still have interest in getting this done?

the crank trigger pattern is a 36-2-1-1 I can provide composite logs of the engine

I am modding the ms2 code rover2 to work only with the crank pattern and support wasted spark only for now, but i took a full composite log of the car running with my spare ms2 so I will upload it today hopefully by Monday I will make and update identifying the full phase of the engine so the official code can work with both cam and crank at least for ms3. the car is COP from factory so the cam patter is useful for ms2 too but for simplicity i will only concentrate in the crank patter.

The patter was log in fallen edge. For this logs the pcb 3.0 is configure for vr input (hall sensor mod) for the crank and the opto input for the cam I jump tach select to vrout inv to match the opt coupler output. Right now both conditioner output ground(go low ) when the receive a low signal (crank and cam sensor go low when they are at a tooth)

Apart from the phase and the piston 1 tdc angle what else would you like to see James for the official code?

I want to clarify this car is going to be run with a ms2 but I have and ms3 availabe to test the code for ms3 before I return the car to the owner.

Here is a tooth logger of the engine today I started taking apart the covers of the timing belt to get the phase position of the cam and the trigger angle at tdc

Also i did some preliminary work on the ms2 code to identify the signal at first then add the correct angles I am modding the rover3 decoder. It is Not fully completed so I switch to that from the other options
