Injector Parameters. . . New?

Post by Tjabo »

In advance of going out to log some evidence of my teething problems I think I'm seeing, I just loaded up the .s19 and .ini James just posted, and the Injector Parameters appear to be new? ? ?

I could swear I had my normal old opening time of 1.2 in my .MSQ yesterday, and today the voltage adjusted opening time slopes are there. Whether this is new or not, should I just stick with 1.2 as before to take away an additional variable, since my whole tune on MS2/Extra was developed on my specific car with a 1.2 opening time factored in?

Yeah, these are new. Just use your old 1.2 value... These were added because it's fairly well proven that injector opening times are not linear with voltage.

So just use one of the bins that's at 13.2 volts, and set that to 1.2, and then set a linear curve above and below that, and you should have basically what you had before.

The joys of new code??

OK, here's what has been done.

The old injector "opening time" and "battery voltage correction" are now one curve.
The old injector opening time was based on 13.2V.

We are open to views from beta testers on whether this new method is better, horrible or whatever...

I see curves 2 through 4 are kind of drug in a direction by changing #1. If not using sequential, is it necessary to set all four, or just one per bank you're using, or what?

Thanks!

Hmmmm. . . . I hope having "Use different settings to Bank 1" > "Off" means that Curve 1 is the only one that matters. I can't get access to Curve 2, since almost half of it is out of the window and I can't maximize the window or drag the edge to the right or anything. . .

The X-axis (battery voltage) is shared between all curves. Normally you don't need to change that in any case.
The Y-axis (opening time per injector) has 4 curves.

Unless you know the different parameters per injector you would select both/all to be using curve 1.
If the other curves are all screwed up though, that's a concern and suggests data corruption. The default values have them all the same, which I calculated from the old default 1.0ms opening time and battery factor.
