@ elaw

Thanks for the info. As it turns out, my idle map was not as good as it could be and EGO was having to do a bit more. Specifically, I adjusted the Kpa so that values where not getting interpolated into bins off idle. I turned EGO off and tuned the MAP at full temp in and around the IDLE regions. I also moved the idle region more toward the center if the IDLE VE table. After 2 days. I can say that I am all smiles. This is coming from someone who can be a bit picky and have been known to split hairs :D

Low Idle on non-sequential with large injectors is certainly asking a lot, but MS3 extra proved up to the challenge. ...to think I was satisfied for years with the idle on MS1 extra HR

One day, I may actually hook up the IAC/ISV

Thanks all

Duty cycle greater than about 85% is a problem. Greater than 100% isn't happening. 100% means the injector is open continuously. >100% means it is open MORE than continuously.

I have problems with cranking. For some reason engine is hardly starting up. Sometimes (specially with hot engine and low battery voltage) it doesn't start up at all. 1.0.5 Works fine with same settings?

Ps. New loader doesn't work at all with my laptop

Did you attach an MSQ and datalog ?
Ps. New loader doesn't work at all with my laptop
We need a lot more detail than that!

Are you sure COM7 exists and is free?
What happens if you allow it to scan with debug level 2?

WARNING!!!
No valid ports or ECUs found. Cannot load firmware without communications.

Common problems:

- Something is hogging the serial port.
e.g. TunerStudio, modem or mobile phone cable software.
Be sure to close/exit those applications.

- USB-serial cable on high COM port number, use Device Manager to re-assign
 it to say COM1.

- ECU not powered up, be sure there is fused power applied. Use a mains
adapter or vehicle battery. PP9 batteries are too feeble.

- Serial cable not connected correctly

- Software driver problems

Check the above. Do you want to try probing again? (y/n default = y)
When it scanned serial ports, it seems to be working. Thus I cancelled download before it started to flash:

That makes more sense. Looks to be a bug in the non-scan mode there. I think I always tested using "scan"

Try 3.05 version, there was an error with the logs having a "mark" for the first line making on a few of the traces show up. Haven't seen that issue with this release.

I ran into the same issue. Below is a post from the prev page. In bold is what I had to do to correct this.
sdezego wrote:Upgraded from something like 1.04.

Other than small tweaks, One thing I had to revisit was Cranking/Priming PW. Would not immediate hot restart (turn off running engine and restart immediately) w/o giving pedal. I am not running any IAC (never have), etc so that may be why it is magnified on my setup, but I had to change the cranking PW at the high CLT range to essentially the ~idle PW.

Not sure if something changed along the way that would affect this or if I should look at some other aspect, but thought I would mention....

I tried to tune cranking pw up and down. It didn't help significantly.

The stock settings are built into the firmware.

But why not load the current development firmware (beta 20) ?

It is in the manual called "loading firmware to MS3" in the MS3 section.
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/firmware.html

You will likely need to use the boot jumper to move back to the release code.

(If that's a pain, try installing 1.0.6 beta first, then installing 1.0.5)
