I want to help you, but without the MSQ you are using I can't be sure I have exactly replicated your test conditions.

Would you prefer folks to be running the pre-1.4 or the ~mainline beta 1.3.x firmwares?
Always doing things the hard way, MS2 sequential w/ v1.01 mainboard, LS2 coils. 80 mile/day commuter status.

Whichever you prefer. We need testers of both.

I am taking Alpha N as primary load for fuel and ignition and taking the new setting mapport_t=Off. The Engineload does not change anymore when I am depressing the gas and engine is dying. If I enable a voltage or frequency in mapport_t, the engine works with alpha N as expected. (I do not have a map sensor connected).
Is this the same issue?

Agreed - it is tough.
One method I have used is with two Megasquirts from a single tach source. I use the spark output from one as the cam input to the other. I can then use "Fixed Advance" to move the spark signal which the second Megasquirt sees as the cam moving position.

James
Finally got a chance to test with MS3 and MS2. Both get crank wheel, 2nd trigger goes to MS2. MS2 sequential spark out B goes to MS3 cam in.
Set up trigger wheel in MS2 so 0 degrees advance reads 0 degrees cam advance on the MS3. These are the settings I use on the BMW M54

Using 1.3.4 Release works fine. I can change timing of the MS2 and the VVT 1 angle gauge tracks the value. This code also works on a running car.

MS3 pre-alpha 1 does not work. VVT Angle 1 reads the Min Absolute cam angle value regardless of the timing of the cam signal.

Attached are log and msq that I used in the MS3.

Thanks!

I did on the car and it did not work.

That's why I went back to earliest 1.4 to test.

Thanks

Sounds like I need to come up with a multi-channel VVT simulator.

I could have tested both channels the way you suggested.

Thanks. Took me 9 months to test my part; the weekend seems pretty quick.

It's odd that no one else has complained. I'm guessing it is related to the half moon cam pattern and that most current VVT users have motors with multi tooth cam patterns.

This appears to be related to the setting of "Timed" instead of "Synced to Cam".

Changing that setting gives me a working VVT1 angle.

I'm investigating why.
