MS3Pro: Digital in 4 vs Dig Switched 12v

Post by shaodome »

On the launch control settings in the latest 1.4 code (and possibly earlier) there is an option to choose Digital In 4 and there is also digital switched 12v in.

Are these both basically pin 19 on the Gray connector, but one is a 12v high input and the other a ground input?

Those are different pins.
Digital In 4 = Tableswitch = PH6 = pin29
Digital Switched 12V In = Nitrous In = PH7 = pin19

Matt might want to cross check this.

This is confusing to me as well. The problem is that the pins are named differently in the MS3 Pro docs and the MS3 Pro Module docs.
I asked the same question hereand also here, but I'm still not 100% sure which is which.

This all from memory. Digital 4 is a typo and is actually digital in 3. Iirc there is no 4 and after naming the input if you look on the I/O screen it's call out is for digital 3.

Begs the question as to why every pin has 3-4 names, just adds to the confusion!

I don't understand. I've done a lot of random wiring with my Pro, and besides the ini qwerk with digital 3/4 every pin I have used is labeled correctly. I rarely trace a wire back to the plug I just look for the labeling on the wiring. What I was referring to is, your able to rename the pins inside TS to reflect what it is. So at a quick glance I can see what the clutch pin is on, what vss wire is which, where boost conrol is, ect.

I think what Richy is referring to is that fact that they are named differently between MS3 Pro and MS3 Pro module AND different in TS

Pin naming in MS3 Pro Module
Pin 35 DFIN2 Spare Digital Frequency Input 2
Pin 36 DFIN1 Spare Digital Frequency Input 1
Pin 37 DI4 (12) spare Digital Input 4 – 12 Volt Level
Pin 38 DI3 (5) spare Digital Input 3 – 5 Volt Level
Pin 39 DIFIN3 Spare Digital Frequency Input 3
Pin 40 DI2 (5) Spare Digital Input 2 – 5 Volt Level
Pin 27 DI1 Spare Digital Input 1

Pin naming in MS3 Pro
17 Digital frequency in 2
19 Digital switched 12V in
20 Digital switched in 2
21 Digital frequency in 3
28 Digital frequency in 1
29 Digital switched in 3
32 Digital switched in 1

Pin naming in TS

On the Module, DI4 is the 12 volt input in software.

If DIYA want the pin names changed in the ini file, please let me know what they should be.

The first draft of the MS3-Pro Module pin names accidentally came from a pre-release draft on the MS3 wiring harness names. I'll see if I can get some documentation and other fixes together to avoid the confusion.
