1.4 beta request Req fuel switching

Post by nathaninwa »

Would it be possible to get internal REQ_FUEL switching options in the drop down? I use it under boost and make a switch around 150kpa. Right now Im using an output to trigger an input.

Im asking becuase Im running low on I/O's

Just a bump on this. Looking at using the linelock control, and I know I have a few outputs left, making req fuel a software change would free up 2 extra I/O's for me.

In case you're wondering why, I believe he's using a fuel delivery setup that switches fuel types under boost. Nathan, can you post more details about how that works on your engine?

When I built my fuel cell I piggybacked the main tank with a 5 gallon "race" tank at the time. The plan was to run E85 and switch over using flex fuel for any irregularities. Well ethanol is just not available in my area that much so I went to a 116/E98 mix. After not running flex fuel anymore I was able to open my be table up and make an rpm switch at 3000. This gives me ve1 as my primary cruise and light boost area and ve3 mainly for boost. Doing that I realized I could setup staged injection so more injectors were installed and the fuel tanks separated.

Then I found with mixing the fuel it can be off a little so rather than globally changing the ve table inset up the reqfuel change with an O/I which is very handy. Just before a get together I can make a pull and dial in the alternate reqfuel incase my fuel mix or my corrections are just a little off. This way I leave my boost ve table alone and not mess with it's scaling

So in short, I run pump gas through some 525's till about 5psi, that's when the staging happens over to my 1200's and the 116/ethanol mix. The stage happens right around 3000rpm so that's when I table switch and req fuel switch. The car is my daily and gets 20 plus mph on gas and makes nearly 800whp under boost and race fuel

So for me, making the reqfuel change a software setup too will free up a programmable output and an input since MS always seems to be moving forward with really cool new stuff.

Bringing this back to the top

I'm building an LS with staged injection and looking at running e98 or maybe full methanol on the secondaries

I'm halfway through implementing something that could solve this for you. In recent firmwares there are three "Loop" outputs/inputs that can be configured using the On/Off outputs system and then fed back to switch something else. No external ports are used.

I like the idea, the AFR table has a similar issue. I assume the loop inputs will be globally available?

I saw the loop outputs in 1.4.9 and that would be a perfect solution for that

Thankyou

And on a side note, I've noticed forever that ms3pro ini has a digital in 4, and it should be labeled as 3

I've asked DIYA to confirm what they want doing here.
