If you can spring the extra dough, consider MoTeC CDL3
So much more powerful AFA CANBus support. It would have worked the moment James released the CANBus logger broadcasting.

Those are great news, finallyjsmcortina wrote:Ben @ DIY has it all working and has supplied the relevant information back to RacePak to allow them to put a retail adapter package together.
James
Any estimate on when will they make the retail adapter package?
I thought all that was needed is a firmware update from our part, connect can+ can-, 12v and ground and call it a day

It sounds like it's about 1 or maybe 2 months out at most.

I have seen work being done regarding this and ms3/pro. Im wondering two things:
1... Is ms2/microsquirt going to be supported?
And
2... When you say "adapter" what do you mean exactly? I thought that the connection to the racepak was going to be just soldering can cables and call it a day.
Thanks for your time

Yes MS2, Microsquirt and related are supported. They need the curent MS2/Extra 3.4 firmware.
As I understand it, Racepak require an adapter ($375 ?) to interface to any non VNET device.

Most of the aftermarket loggers and dashes need an adapter to interface to their device. The exception is AIM and even they require a $200 adapter to run the fairly cheap (non logging) G-Dashjsmcortina wrote: As I understand it, Racepak require an adapter ($375 ?) to interface to any non VNET device.

I'm pretty sure that the products from Race Technology can talk regular CAN natively without an adapter box. At least that's how it was working when I was at their offices last week!

Same with MoTeC, although everything else costs extra. Even logging is an option for a Dash display.jsmcortina wrote:I'm pretty sure that the products from Race Technology can talk regular CAN natively without an adapter box. At least that's how it was working when I was at their offices last week!

True. I am running their stuff since a while. They use any Standard Can Channels 11 or 29bit. A .dbc file helps configuring but it is not a must.jsmcortina wrote:I'm pretty sure that the products from Race Technology can talk regular CAN natively without an adapter box. BTW: It took me a while to find out the correct setting for "Byte Order". Maybe a hint in a coming version of the CAN-pdf would help... Race Technology calls this "Motorolla forward MSB"

The Racecapture pro datalogger from Autosport labs does not need an adapter either.

Looks like with the help of the DIYAutotune staff, the new Racepak EFI module through CAN is ready from another post. I am sure the details will be posted here shortly!

Re: any chance on supporting racepak via CANBUS?
I was just working with one yesterday.
I miss the MoTeC CDL3 I used to work with. Big bucks, but it would have worked with this day one.

The MS3 to Racepak modules are now available. We have some but they're not on the website just yet - email us at websales@diyautotune.com if you want to order one.
