any chance on supporting racepak via CANBUS?

Post by JoseMiguel »

I have read over older posts regarding MS2/3/Pro and Racepak dashes/loggers. Im aware that there is an adaptor which hooks via the serial port but according to DIY's website, it is no longer supported by the newest firmwares (3.3.3 on MS2 or 1.4 on MS3). I also saw somewhere in the boards that you people have been unable to contact the tech guys over there.

It would be great to have Racepak support via CANBUS (around here, Racepak dashes are the only thing around, and what is far easier to get). I would like to know if there are any further plans on supporting this dashes, any news around this or if there is no longer interest on supporting them.

thanks for reading

I have been in touch with them numerous times. No firm answer yet.

Maybe it would be worth you asking them also? To show that there are customers wanting to buy RacePak products with CANbus support for Megasquirt.

I would like this option as well- is there anyone specific to talk to or just general tech support?

I have submitted my input to support@racepak.com. I have a client that doesn't want to use the overly outdated firmware to use his IQ3 with MS3.

We believe that some progress has been made with RacePak this week and that support is "in hand."

Once we get a formal announcement from RacePak we'll update here on what is needed to get Megasquirt/VNET integration.

Hi guys, I know it hasn't even been two weeks, but any ideas how this will be supported. It sounds like perhaps RacePak will try and use their generic CAN to VNET wire to support the MS3 CAN? I would like to get the parts ordered so I can have a working dash again!

Cheers,
O!

They emailed me a question about one item yesterday, so I believe things are underway.

I'll post more here when I know it.

Ben @ DIY has it all working and has supplied the relevant information back to RacePak to allow them to put a retail adapter package together.
