Feature Request: More CEL Triggers

Post by Schuyler »

I currently use my CEL for a high temp warning, including both Oil and Coolant. I would like to add a few more triggers to it though, and have it basically be a "You need to pull over and turn this girl off" kind of light. Using the "Programmable On/Off Outputs", I am limited to only having two triggers. It would be nice if the CEL menu had additonal triggers added to it that are sensor reading based, and not just faulty sensor voltage checks.

3rd'ed.

I would also like it for oil & coolant pressure sensors.

Fully user programmable CEL would be unreal, similar to the general IO outputs.

What are you guys after that the current code doesn't cover? CEL is already built in and very extensive, and highly user configurable for many things. Including you can program certain errors to put the ECU into limp modes.

Now a nice feature to add to the current line up would be to have the CEL blink when it goes into a limp mode. Like OE does when engine damage could occur. The blink codes I find too distracting, I have to count them.... Not safe when driving.

Anyways this post has gone ignored I suspect because it is already in the normal MS3 code. (Unless I am running a pre-release beta and forgotten...). Whatever the case, take a closer look and you will find it is already there!!!

I datalog fuel, oil, coolant pressure and i'm about to hookup transmission line pressure for logging. The current release FW doesn't set CEL (either solid or blink codes) for generic inputs like these.

Okay reading these again, I understand what you guys are after now. I think being able to "share" the output of said generic sensors with the CEL output would be great. Or with each other and "stack" them for that matter. I am not sure that this can't already be done though...

My CEL has two LEDs inside it. I use one that is yellow for the CEL outputs. And for the "Pull over NOW" warning I use an ultra bright white.
