ETA on this 1.4.x code becoming release is 2 months.

Who should use this code?
Experienced users wanting to test the new features.

Who should not use this code?
New or casual users – please use the current release code instead – see the Downloads page linked above.

Main changes since pre-1.4 beta 13
Bug fixes:
Allow knock countdown and window to overlap for low toothcount wheels (SR20, RB25)
Tweak wheel_fill_map_event_array for iteration.

New / changed features:
Allow 4G63 output phase to be swapped by adding 360 deg to trigger offset.
Change poll-level check tooth to 1 to match old behaviour.
Revert "Adjust Fiat 1.8 mode by 5 degrees."
VVT tooth filter.

Minor / internal:
-

Known bugs

The firmware zip is available from:
http://www.msextra.com/downloads/dev/ms3/1-4/beta-14/

Be sure to read the README.txt and RELEASE-NOTES.txt that are supplied in the zipfile.

Upgrading users are advised to enable the “old baro calc” for backwards compatability.

The VVT tooth filter is aimed at helping with the Coyote VVT3 issue.

Some of the ini changes will result in harmless warnings when loading MSQs from 1.3.x
Users upgrading from 1.2.x or earlier codes need to pay more attention.
TunerStudio 2.6.x is REQUIRED.

Some recent-ish changes I could do with feedback on:

Miata alternator working correctly after transients
Fuel temperature correction in degC
Dual fuel AE
SR20 internal knock
Fiat 1.8 decoder
Generic sensors back to normal
Coyote VVT3 (ongoing)
Baro working the same in compatability mode.

James, after reload 1.3.4, I have reload 1.4 beta 14 and it seems that the problem has disappeared.

took a ride with this code, with actuators unplugged and a short drive i saw NO errors. :yeah!: on the other hand when i plugged the actuators back in i had pretty bad oscilations in vvt2 and 3. i knocked pids in half on the intake and it seems to cure it then i noticed vvt2 doing the same, i believe this can be tuned out but it was unexpected. was there something that changed in the pid loop in the code?

in the longer log i changed pids at the markers.

No change to the PID. Is this with the "error checking" enabled?

Dear James,

The generic sensors appear to work fine. I am using the first two for dual fuel correction and the next two to datlog the lpg reducer temperature.
The acceleration enrichment when running dual fuel also looks normal, but my installtion is sequential, so I am not using the two main injector channels which iirc was where the problem was.

kind regards
Marek

Hi James,

There is an error in the EGT dropdown menu for the analog inputs name on the ms3pro. Choices should be analog in 1, 2, 3 but it's analog in 3, ego2, and spare adc.

One other thing, Do you think it's possible to configure the EGT calibration in reverse (i mean to put 1000F at 0v and 0F at 5v).

The reason why I want to do that is because I want to implement a shutdown engine feature based on an other analog sensor and I need to do that.

So it is... will be fixed for next release.

Try it, but I'm not sure if it will work.

Hello all, my name is Ed and I'm new to the forums. I have a 05 350z where I have completed installing a turbo VR6 into using a MS3 pro module stuffed into the stock ECU case. We have managed to modify the 1.3.4 firmware to control the 350z tachometer and coolant temp gauges off the CAN bus. The next step is to be able to poll the CAN bus for the A/C ON and speed sensor messages off of the 350z CAN bus, we have this information too. To do this, we need the CAN features in the 1.4 beta. Is there any chance of getting a copy of the source code to modify with our changes or I can get my software engineer to provide his information to someone with access that can make the changes for us. This will allow lots of people to do engine swaps in a 350z and run the factory gauges and functioning AC with much less hassle. My email is ed@seomotorsports.com

Regards,

Ed

Upgraded a flex fuel car I am tuning from 1.3 to this. Fuel temperature now works (it did not with 1.3).

When using the flex blend, and switchable overboost, where is this set? I turned it on, but couldn't find where to set it.
