Request - AFR table switch by CLT

Post by Magovit »

Hi,

On E100 + cold weather it's good to have a dual aft table switch for warm up.

One table richer for warm up, and after it goes to the normal afr table.

It will be very welcome.

Thanks.

Perhaps I don't understand the question, but can't the same thing be accomplished using WUE?

I think I know why he is asking, but I don't see his suggestion as the answer. WUE is not load sensitive and at least I see wild variations in AFR during warmup.
But I think 1.4 has added a mechanism to switch any table from a Boolean expression, that way he should be able to do what he asks.

WUE can't do the trick. Blending another Primary fuel table for lower temps can do it, but takes more time to take it working great and not solve the whole problem at all.

The perfect solution is a AFR switching table by CLT

It's simple to implement and usefull for who use E100 in cold weather on Warm up.

Thanks.

You can do that already, define a Loop output with your required conditions.

Advanced Engine -> Programmable On/Off Outputs -> Loop 1/2/3

Use your selected loop variable in the AFR table switching droplist.

You can also use the blend function by adding a single jumper:
- run a jumper from where R8 & C7 join, OR pin 25 on the DIP40, to JS4 (ADC7) or JS5 (ADC6)
- declare your selected spare ADC to be a generic sensor (say, Sensor1); the transformation will obviously be "Same as CLT"
- under [Table Switch / Dual Fuel], set [AFR Table Switching] to "Blend Curve (5)"
- select Blend Curve 5, then set [X Axis Parameter] to "Sensor 1"

You'll almost certainly need to adjust the X-axis according to your desired temperature range between fully normal AFR1 and fully AFR2.
Temporarily shut down - back soon!

could you still add a CLT option in the blend curve?

If WUE was a multiplier of target AFR instead of a multiplier to PW, you could let your wideband control fuelling in closed loop from warmup to operating temp. I believe a couple of us have raised this in the past as a feature request. You probably wouldn't need a CLT/AFR table switch then and your commanded mixtures would be load sensitive.

I guess one thing thats assumed is you in warmup mode the engine wants MORE fuel.

For me (and probably other Aircooled guys) I want LESS fuel, so we can run it lean to warm up the engine faster.

So a AFR table with leaner targets when its cold, then blend to richer targets as it warms up.

WUE only works to add fuel, not remove.

I think you are wrong in your assumption that WUE only adds fuel. Setting it to a number lower than 100 will subtract fuel.

You haven't enabled the LPG setting on the "Gauge and Setting limits"
