Hi,

I was watching my EAE gauge today and noticed it going to 0% on overrun fuel cut today. I have never seen this before. See attached log on 7766.233 overrun fuel cut enters and EAE goes to 0%

It should go to something like 108%, the commanded Adhere to Wall coefficient for this MAP. As on overrun the fuel puddle is 0, the Sucked from Walls is 0, and on leaving fuel cut you need the full adhere to wall compensation. This is how it always used to work.

Did something change in this firmware regarding EAE?

EAE has not changed in years. Going to 0 during throttle lift and fuel cut is normal.
Megasquirt is not for use on pollution controlled vehicles. Any advice I give is for off road use only.

No really, I've used eae for more than a year in ms2: i have never seen this.

And how could eae ever go to 0% mathematically?

It would only be possible of adhere to wall was extremely low and sucked of wall extremely high. But even then, why would EAE cut off fuel completely?

Because you're cutting fuel. There shouldn't be any fuel going into the engine if you're cutting fuel.

Cutting fuel yes, but not cutting eae. Eae isn't doing the overrun fuel cut, it just has to react to it.

Overrun = zero fuel, =zero wallfuel, =full commanded adhere to wall coefficient on return fuel, =zero sucked from wall coefficient on return fuel. That's not 0%, but at least more than 100% depending on the graph.

EAE responds to changes in fuel being injected in addition to changes in the tuning parameters. What you are seeing is normal.

Ego, wue, injector trim, etcetera don't go to 0% in overrun. Why should EAE?

I have to correct myself though: I stumbled upon an old MS2 log and the EAE did go to 0% there. I'm just pretty shure it never did this on my Tunerstudio gauge. I have no explanation for that.

EAE is not the same as all the rest of the enrichments. PW does not feed back into the rest. I am closing this thread. What you are seeing is normal.
