3 step options

Post by nathaninwa »

From my earlier post about the 3 step rpm hard limit, looking at the log it seems the 3 step uses the same commanded timing as the 2 step. I have my timing set to -10 for the 2 step and I build around 3psi before the launch, for the brief instance I was rolling on the 3 step the car made 7psi. My fear is under load while doing a burnout the car could make 20psi with ease ( as is the case with my buddy's 1j) and I just don't need that kinda of power for a burnout

Is there a way to get a 3 step commanded timing feature?

Bumping this.

Can the 3 step input override all other revlimiters? Im using the speed based launch and that revlimit is being used since its lower than than the 3 step revlimit and bogging my burnout

There is a work around by raising the first couple bins of the speed based launch, but having the 3 step input over ride that would make it easier

Looks like the 3-step ought to block the speed based launch.

I'll take some logs tonight. Last week when I tested in the driveway, I could set the speed based at say 3000, and the 3 step at 2500 and the 3 step work proper, then when set to 3500 on the 3 step it would limit out at the 3000 speed based limit, then in the logs you can see see the rpm decline as I'm rolling out gaining speed on vss2

Edit, meant to read, looking at the log I posted above, you can see the rpm drop as the mph comes up as I'm coming out of the water box following the speed based limit, and I can feel the limiter in the car, it's not the tires pulling the engine down

Heres 3 logs, one with just speed at 3k, and hitting it, then setting the 3 step to 2500 and it overshoots just a little but the loud pop I get in the exhaust indicates its hitting the 3 step limit, and the final log with 3 step at 3500, the motor stops at the 3000 speed limit
