Compile with ubuntu

Hello,

what is required to compile ms2/3 under ubuntu?
Does anyone do it like this?

Install the tools per the README.

That's how all the releases are built.

Either gedit or Eclipse. Ken uses gvim.

Im realy new to ubuntu...
At the moment i din't know how to install the compiler tools.
In the readme there is:
su root
cd /
tar xfz <path>/tools.tar.gz
I don't know if this work with ubuntu 15.04??

It should work with any Linux system.

With install do you simply mean unzip the folder?
