MS3 Idle spark cut
Hy again guys,i am just wondering...can you make a firmware with has spark cut idle limiting for when you keep the throttle partly opened all the time for antilag? Kind la Vems, Motec, Viper, etc. Not the roving idle with limit's it from fuel cut,...Much better with the spark cut from my experience with other ecu's, plus, no need to go sequential, and ref trigger is enough. By the way, i have mounted over 40 megasquirt ecu's on cars...so i'm a committed customer

Re: MS3 Idle spark cut
I am sure if the dev want to they can as there is code that can support this already.
However it is not what motec does. The motec parameter in the Overrun Boost (Anti-Lag) menu and it does limit fuel. There were some firmware's that allowed ignition cut, but it is not advised. I personally have had major problems with it causing back fires into the intake and damaging many things.
The fuel limit (also called roving idle) was originally implemented to help cool the engine and turbo quickly after a long hard run, this is because with the round robin cylinder fuel cut you have to run the engine much richer to make the power so the engine will run still, this rich mix will let the exhaust portion of them engine cool quickly while the unlit cylinders reduce the heat put into the cooling system. This was then just adapted to stop the rpm running away with the jacked throttle.

Re: MS3 Idle spark cut
yeah...just crossed my mind now....the motel hold's 0.85 Lambda while idling, while Vems with the spark cut 1.16+...
