Vary boost duty/target during launch

Post by Reverant »

I need to vary the launch boost duty/target with a pot during drag events. Can we add this to the todo list?

Go to [Boost Control] [Boost Table Switching]; select "Blend Curve (6)".

Go to [Table Choices] [Blend Curve (6) Boost1->2] [X-axis Parameter]; select "Sensor1 (or 2, or ... )"

Go to [Advanced Engine] [Generic Sensor Inputs] [Sensor - Source]; for whichever sensor # you're using, select the spare ADC pin (or CAN ADC input) to which you plan to hook up the pot. The transformation would be "Linear"; the "0v value" would be 0, the "5v value" would (presumably) be 5.

Dialing in the main and alternate duty / target tables is a bit beyond what I can help you with ... :)

This needs to be a separate setting, just for the launch. The normal boost levels are on a different potentiometer.

If you aren't already, you could use the pot for the gear input, and use boost per gear with 6 selections.

Like I said, I'm already blending the two boost tables, as we need to manually drop the boost about 700ft after the start due to low traction. So this won't work.

What I need is a pot to adjust the boost during launch only, as some tracks require less boost during launch than others.

I think I have a way to do this, IF the boost-per-gear/speed simply sets a cap to the values in the table. If setting a per-gear value completely ignores / replaces the target table, then you probably won't want my idea.
