MS3 pre-1.5 alpha 2 and 3 released

right now I copy the loader form the 1.4.1 beta to the 1.5 alpha3 and apparently it loaded will this cause problems?

Almost certainly yes. The older loaders do no know how to erase all the flash.

The first time you load pre-1.5 it will likely work, the second time you'll get a flash error-correction fault and the MS3 will crash when you try to run it.

I checked the loader code and think I see the problem. I've made a change (but not tested it.)

Version 3.40 loaders for Windows and Linux are available at the link I posted. Please try them.

Nope, that's built-in. Please use the debug level 2 to see what's going on.

Also, when saving the screenshot, save as a jpeg or GIF. Then you won't need to zip it. BMP always generates huge files.

EDIT: Looks like I need to do more testing here with an older MS3. I'll aim to do that this coming week.

Please excuse my ignorance, but what TAC modules would say a GM use that are CAN communication? I believe the LS application I'm thinking of uses only UART, is this correct?

Any details for those of us that aren't electrical experts on how to make a Gateway? I tried googling UART to CAN Gateway and haven't gotten any good results.

-Also how does this code handle idle control? Looking at it there is no selection for "DBW" in the idle control window, and I don't see any sort of idle control targets.

-I noticed on some GM DBW throttle bodies have a speed input signal directly to them and some must communicate it over the data connection, is this going to cause of problem?

So I guess there is no chance of me using this feature then as I'm assuming it would require more than just a simple converter? Or am I misunderstanding an a "gateway" is not a hardware component?

Also being this uses 11-bit will this be able to be used with systems like mine that have a micro-squirt for trans control?

I just installed 1.5 beta 3, using v3 beta Tuner studio's new firmware update feature. I needed to manually reload my tune, the part of the process that says it was doing that didn't seem to work.

I notice that my After Start taper does not seem to work. With repeated starts it sometimes revs up, some times not, it almost instantly drops the taper. Closed loop idle engages and after a few seconds the idle speed picks up to where it should be

I don't believe v3 TS will load 1.5 code correctly.

The new firmware seemed to load on my ms3 no problems. It just did not complete the part of the TS upgrade process where it applies the tune. When i did it manually it gave me a few warnings which all seemed reasonable. I used the beta a version. Reading the various posts there does seem to be an issue with earlier ms3s, i think mine is a later version.
