IAT and boost
Hi guys,
At the moment, MS have table MAT/Advance. It reduced the advance spark for not knock and is ok. But in some cases this strategy is problem for EGT and is insufficient for not damage the engine. when the combustion chamber becomes too hot, spontaneous combustion can take place, and spark retard Does not eliminate the detonation.
Only way is to reduce the boost.
Is possible insert a curve MAT/BOOST?
I attach log. You Can see at 6300rpm, cyl1 knock, mat is high, knock circuit retard, MAt retard but cil1 not stop knock... at 6500rpm intercooler hose damage, the boost decreased and knonck decreased
thanks

Re: IAT and boost
really need both a retard then pull boost.
Or just run better fuel lol

Re: IAT and boost
what you could do is set up boost table switching, or a blend curve.

Re: IAT and boost
That assumes you aren't using table switching or blending for something else.
I like the OP's idea and recommend it as well.

Re: IAT and boost
If i use tableswitch I can t use switch for dual pressure. I think curve iat/boost Is good for all tuners.

Re: IAT and boost
The boost vs iat curve is something I don't think I would use.
It would have saved you if it was setup right.
but a knock boost pull would be easier to set up and cover other anomaly's like crap fuel, dirty fuel filter, etc

Re: IAT and boost
If the engine knock is too late. The curve iat-boost is for prevent the knock
Re: IAT and boost
Are you using dual boost tables? If so, what are your switching criteria? Is it possible to include high IAT in the 'switch to lower table' criteria?AbatelliCristian wrote:If i use tableswitch I can t use switch for dual pressure. I think curve iat/boost Is good for all tuners.

Re: IAT and boost
I use Low boost for Low Power , And high boost for high Power. The car use e85 and in The bapro dyno run 550hp
At 6000 rpm 2bar boost and 64nm.
Then damage engine for auto-combustion
