Stop the presses. Blown 2A fuse on the CANEGT power. It is now working with the release code.
I don't know why the fuse would blow. I haven't touched anything except to update firmware. It is possible that the CANEGT mini phono plug was jostled when I plugged in the USB. I will go back to the latest FW and retry. Hopefully I'll be back apologizing for derailing a development thread.

Installed pre1.5a4 and I'm back to the AFR being reported as 7.4 no mater what. The CAN settings don't transition cleanly. I had to turn on 29 bit Megasquirt CAN enable and to fetch innovate EGO data which was disabled. The clock is working now.
I can see the CANEGT in the port scanner tool as well.
Please review my msq and let me know if I've missed something - otherwise, it looks like there is a problem with innovate EGO data over CANEGT.

Before you posted this, I reloaded pre 1.4.1beta1 and it works fine. working MSQ here:
The MSQ I started with would have been very similar to this one. Based on the date, I know it was one of the last working files before I started mucking around.

The "29 bit Megasquirt CAN enable" works fine for me - it is set to "On"
The fetch EGO data setting is changed, so TunerStudio sets it to off.

Observations for 1.5a4:
Anyone else noticed their AFR seems to be leaner after applying 1.5a4?
I've been for one drive and gave it a hit up to 6500, looking at the data logs I'm running up around AFR 13 when it should be around 11.0.

Another query on 1.5a4, during the same drive mentioned in my post above, when I gave it a hit the engine backfired under power. It has never done that before. It frightened the $#@$@ out of me. Weirdness under power in a rotary is going to be a concern. The log taken is from the SD card so not all fields are available in comparison to Tuner Studio. The trace shows RPM going to 0, Fuel going to 0. and timing taking a slight dip. I'm not sure if this is (the first time) traction control has come into effect. I would not have expected RPM to disappear.
Does this show some strangeness with 1.5a4, or is this expected for Traction Control? Log attached. MSQ attached

Looking at the MSL I just noticed the lost sync count increments from 0 to 1 at 183.982, when the fuel and RPM drop to 0

I've rolled back to the 1.4.1 release. I'll advise if I see the sync loss persist. With a rotary engine I won't get a second chance and I'm not confident that the core stability is there with this alpha

Megasquirt is not for use on pollution controlled vehicles. Any advice I give is for off road use only.

Is a sync loss a possible result of traction control in operation? I can't work out from the log I attached how to identify if TC was in effect (because it is an SD log which is not able to log all the fields)

Questioned above about running lean on 1.5a4, the reason for that is the sensor calibration has changed itself to an Innovate item. I changed it to the AEM, went for a drive, turned off car after taking data logs and the calibration has changed itself to 14point7

I'm having difficulty with CL idle and idle advance coming on during decel in gear and it will come in and out based on the load . above 20 KPA they are engaging but below they are not so during a coast situation where it sees high vacuum it will cause the timing to go from 12* to using the table at like 36 back and forth. on the cl idle setting menu there is no where to set the minimum load for clidle like there used to be. This may not be new to everyone else but it is to me because I am coming off of some older alpha code to this. How do I tune that out? Here is the log and the tune files.

You need to tune the engine state settings.
Megasquirt is not for use on pollution controlled vehicles. Any advice I give is for off road use only.

Based on a couple of logs ...I came up with 7000 rpm/sec for fast acceleration and -7000 for fast decel. I came up with 1200 RPM/sec for slow acceleration and -1200 for slow decel with a over un threshold of 15kpa. Does that sound plausible for a 1.8 liter na miata motor?
