Toyota 2ZZ-GE VVTL-i Support?

Post by MWPau »

Hi all,

Does anyone know the current state of supporting the VVTL-i on the 2ZZ-GE engine?
It's not the most straight forward system.

It looks like the lift may be open loop, so no problems there.

Any info on the crank+cam teeth?

Yeah, lift is just switched on/off. There is no positional feedback.
The single cam variable valve timing needs closed-loop control.

The crank is 36-2.
Im not sure about the cam yet. It does have 3 teeth, but im not sure what spacing those teeth have.

IIRC, current code has the four cylinder patter. Use 2JZ-VVTi spark mode.
