Its been a couple month I wonder is there any plans to add this pattern to ms3, The car us running in ms2 with a modified code that I did. But I got another client that is interested in a sequential ms3 installation and I would like to use and oficial code version instead of a new modified one for ms3 if posible.

We are ready for the next step please confirm nothing else is needed to make ms3 compatible with this engine

Interesting that the OEM looks to have put the missing tooth in exactly the wrong place ?!

Sorry for the delayed. I tested the code for a couple month and Im haooy to reported that it worked properly I saw that the changes made their way to the newest beta firmware so soon I'll tested to and call it a day :yeah!:

I am working on a similar project with the same engine using the MS3 pro. I cant seem to get the crankshaft sensor to send a signal. I have tried two new sensors and still get a constant 12v out regardless of proximity to something metal. Did you use any kind of resistor?

I did not use pull up resistors because I share the crank and cam sensor signals with the factory ecu to retain a working factory gauges (Can output for this cluster is not supported yet) the pcb 3.0 rpm circuit is different to the ms3 pro Matt can tell you what is the correct configuration of their rpm signals circuitry that output hi when the sensor signal is 5v and low when it reads 0v then the code. If you are going full stand alone your probably need pull up resistor and the stock sensor output 0 v when in front of a tooth.

Do you think it has anything to do with the fact that you are sharing the signal with the factory ECU? My sensor wiring matches the factory service manual, but yet I am not getting a signal. Im not sure how to post images, when I try they don't show up. I am using imgur to host my photos.

Here is how I have the sensor wired up temporarily out of the vehicle to test the signal

Here is the schematic for the crank sensor. Note the signal connection at the EUC. There are 3 resistors in parallel with one as ground, then one with 5v, then one as a sine wave. This is why I am wondering that maybe yours is working because you are sharing the signal with the factory ECU and maybe the input is conditioned somehow?

No i have started the car with out the factory ecu too. If you power the sensor (power and ground) it should output ground through the signal wire with out the megasquirt connected to the signal wire test only the sensor (use a led or a power probe to test the ground output of the sensor) if it check out ok then we can see if there something wrong with the MS

So my sensor is working, it just doesn't register with a test light. It outputs a ground signal which when testing with a multimeter it registers 12v between the battery + and the signal wire. Since this signal is a ground, do I still connect it to CKP+? or would I connect it to CKP-?

Follow the instructions in the manual.
Use a pullup and connect to CKP+.

The sensor is back in the vehicle I have wired up the sensor with a 1k resistor between CPK+ and sensor power as described in the manual, cranked the engine, and no RPMs. I noticed that when measuring the signal when manually turning the engine, the signal never goes to 0. It just varies between 1v and 12v as it passes over teeth, is this normal and is the MS looking for 0v between teeth?

Did you wired the cams sensor also? Did you try rising edge or falling edge? Your hardware is diferent from mine and probably does settings must change. Also do a tooth log and comoosite log with In the ignition seting put log crank and cam a post your composite log and a thooth trigger log and post them to compare them to the one posted by me

I had not tried wiring the cam sensor yet because I had been thinking that I had been ruining the crank sensors and didn't want to damage that either. I had downloaded the 6g75 firmware and had left all of the trigger settings as default. I was just thinking that whether or not I had rising or falling edge that I would register something. I had tried doing a composite log in the past and got no signals.

Most crank sensors output a positive voltage, but this sensor outputs a ground. Isn't the CKP+ looking for a positive voltage?
