Feature Request: Rev limit by other sensors than CLT

Post by aidandj »

Would love to have the option in the drop down menu to do oil temperature. So instead of rev limit type: Normal, CLT. We could list all the sensors or other inputs.

Thoughts/Discussion? Oil temp is more important than CLT when determining a cold rev limit, and it would also allow one to set a rev limit if it gets to hot.

In most of my testing coolant temperatures largely depend on load, while oil temps are heavily dependent on RPM. I can sit at 6000rpm and low load and oil temps will skyrocket. So being able to set a max rev limit if oil gets too hot would be pretty cool.

Following. I agree on oil temp being more important.

It would be nice to see rev limits based on both coolant and oil temp because if either one gets too hot, it could cause damage.

You can likely do this already - set up the programmable on/off outputs to trigger a "Loop" channel and then use that Loop as the input for the 3-step/burnout limiter.

Well the idea here is to increase the RPM limiter variably, as is already done with the coolant. Also, some people already use the burnout limiter for actual burnouts on the track.

Yeah I thought the request to open up the input of the rev limiter to be any sensor and not just coolant. I'd switch mine to oil temps if it was an option for sure.
