Evo 9 VVT support?

Post by Reverant »

Hi,

are there any plans to add support for the Evo 9 vvt? It uses the standard 4G63 crank/cam pattern, and just adds the usual VVT solenoid. It also has a cam sensor on the exhaust cam, which is the same as the intake cam but has an additional small tooth, but the exhaust cam sensor is not needed at all.

also needing this support, I found out this in a bad way, I'm in another country and the MS is already installed and the engine running, it's planned to be tuned next week but I did not think the vvt would not have support so I'm asking for help.

the intake tooth are regular tooth? If yes you can use standard vvt and you can use exhaust sensor cam for phase (use pull level)

the exhaust teeth are two uneven teeth but the intakes are 4 even spaced teeth, the problem is when you enable the vvt the TS shows an error

Comp logs?

To support this the 4G63 mode would likely need to be re-written as it relies on the phasing of the cam pattern to the crank pattern.

Ok, the evo has exhaust cam sensor (fixed camshaft) and a intake cam sensor (variable) exactly as the honda k20, the K20 vvt with MS works with both sensors wouldn't the evo work like this?

You wouldn't believe, just right now the car has the engine on the floor because we had to change the crossmember, please allow me 1 or 2 days to make the logs.

Does anyone have a "Log crank and cam" composite log for one of these engines?

The log above is close, but doesn't give full data for the cam.

I know it is short notice to ask for this now, but I didn't realise that the log wasn't complete. I'm working on the code today.

I found I had some standard 4G63 data already, so I used that.

Test code sent.
