MS3pro + BMW E60 SMG CAN-bus

Post by anzelmi »

The objective is to make the following control.
MS3Pro + CAN-EGT + BMW E60 SMG transmission. CAN-BUS data transmission between these three.

Is it possible for example to send MS3pro rpm signal to the gearbox and receive gearbox shifting situation? -> for limiting the torque.
Toyota Aristo JZS161 -98
MS3Pro 2JZ-GTE VVTi, Holset HX40 Super
Ofgear + heavy duty transmission with high stall converter

You would need to know the full technical details of the CAN messages sent and received by the gearbox.

The gearbox needs a lot more info, not just the RPM (APPS, engine torque, brake, coolant temp, VSS for each wheel from the ABS sensors, steering angle, just to name a few). It's not something easy to do and the devs need a LOT of information to make it happen. I don't see it becoming a feature given how little demand there will be for it and given how much coding it will require to implement.
