Featura request: CL idle improvements

Post by montelibre »

Hi.

I have been thinking about how to avoid that an engine with an automatic transmission stalls at CL idle.

- Don't let the Stepper motor go down if rpm are below the idle target.

- let it a barometric correction for overrun Kpa value.

- Let it put a minimum value for Stepper motor if the vehicle is at a certain speed.

I think those features will be enough to avoid the engine stalls.
What do you think?

Change your stepper settings to do not close. When leaving closed loop idle it will leave the stepper at that position and when you return to closed loop it will already be open. This solved the problem for me because
A) the valve never really closes
B) the stepper is already in the correct position for idle when the pedal is released.

Edit:
I'm also using a speed sensor to keep out of closed loop when the vehicle is moving.

Don't know if you have this setup available.

You can also limit the valve movement. I idle around 18% dc on a pwm motor. I limit the closing dc to like 15%

I also use the rpm timing correction table
