Single update announcement thread?

I don't know if this has ever been discussed before, but in addition to the individual threads announcing new firmware releases, how about having a single thread where a brief post is made to announce each version?

That way interested parties could subscribe to the one topic, and automatically get notifications whenever there's a new release.

And it will be easier to follow what changes are done between versions
