Starting Pulse Width

Post by sedd »

Per the manuals I see that the starting pulse width is only supposed to be based on the cranking pulse width curve. I am getting around 18.6 pulse width during cranking and my required fuel is 13.9. that percentage increase is around 133. My starting pulse curve shows around 1.18 at around 70 deg F. So I am confused as to how it is getting a higher value of correction. files attached.

I think you have to add the injector dead-time to your calcs; and that rises to about 2msec when you are cranking at 9.4V So, 13.9 x 1.18 = 16.4, then add the 2 to get 18.4, close enough?

thanks. that is what I was looking for.

just curious, does the program automatically adjust each injector for the assigned dead time curve.

I think so, but let's find out for sure... I also think there are other parameters considered for cranking pulse (MAT maybe?), but the dead-time is the bulk of your discrepancy.
