Trigger wheel missing tooth location

Post by redfogo »

Hello everyone. I have read the Mega manual a few times over but I'm still a little bit confused on where the missing tooth is relative to TDC. I have few ideas but would like to verify them.

1. Can the missing tooth be any place on the crank so long as when at TDC the sensor and the #1 tooth are 50deg(6cylinder)?
2. The manual always shows the sensor on the left side of the crank. How does 50deg work if i need to mount the sensor on the right side?

50 deg is a recommendation, not a solid rule.

Not sure what you mean here.
Place the crank sensor anywhere that is convenient. It is the phasing between the trigger wheel and the crank sensor that matters.

And, abandon the obsolete Megamanual; use the manuals linked-to at the top of this page
