Cost and Area Reduction
I don't know who is designing the hardware for the MS3X board but here's a way to reduce circuit cost and component size. Rather than dissipating the reactive energy (of the injectors) in each injector driver transistor, we can use a single clamping circuit for all eight. This lowers the cost for each of the drivers as they will no longer be dissipating the reactive energy. I also added a capacitor to the clamping voltage rail. This capacitor will lower the ground spikes by maintaining a steady flow to ground and should result in a quieter ground. See the attached PDF.

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
The MS3X has already been laid out and the first prototypes are in a production queue. The output uses one VND5N07 per channel, the same as the Sequencer and Microsquirt.

How are the heat sinked?

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
Reflow soldered to the board, no external heatsinking.

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
So long as Jean publishes instructions for using his P&H board with the MS3, I'll be happy.. I love that board.

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
You can be sure that there will be a way to use the P&H box externally.

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
I hope that there are now two grounds (power and signal). It would be nice to have a seperate ground return (to the block) for the injector MOSFETs. My SBChevy setup with the MSII has been plagued with ground noise. Please say it is.

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
Are they isolated from the other ground? I assume that these are MOSFET source grounds only. Is that correct?

Re: Cost and Area Reduction
Well? Does anyone know if the power ground and signal ground have been isolated? They really should!
