MS3 - progress monitor

Post by jsmcortina »

All MS3 owners, please 'vote' here to indicate how you are getting on. You should be able to change your 'vote' as you move forwards.

We want MS3 to be a success and your feedback on the good (or bad) is most needed. If you think there should be more poll choices, just ask.

I voted "not done anything yet" because "waiting for other parts" wasn't a choice.

Runs so well, it seems like a have a different motor under the hood. :yeah!: It's like going from a motor that was clearly a science experiment, to a motor that feels like it's as smooth as any OEM ECM I've ever driven. Next weekend I re-install the MS2 science experiment and see if I can figure out why it doesn't run this well. :)

Added that option...but didn't realise it would wipe out the results!! Curses. Let's start again.

It's running and work as intended for me. Satisfied with it. Furthermore, I managed to get third place
with MS3 in the recent local race.

Yeah, I can't really use mine until ms3x is here, but in the meantime it's serving as a nice injector tester :)

I chose "waiting for other parts" as I'm building it and will need a few more new circuits to be built as well.

EDIT: latest update is I have completed assembly of the MS3 & bench testing. Still waiting for hall sensor for my car though

It runs for me, but I need to figure out PID tuning so I can get my VE table dialed in. I am also looking to get EGT sensing going very soon so that's on the horizon, but also puts a limit on my tuning abilities (because it's aircooled).

Up and running on the Toyota 2jzgte. Had to change it from the MS2 settings of 24 + 1 to 12+1 (was running crank input as cam sensor, so 24 base teeth on ms2).

MS3 running all 6 coils using the old MS2 spark output pins and the two main injector channels on the V3 PCB. I am dieing to get my hands on the additional injector driver board as MANY MANY high HP 2j/1j guys are watching this build peeing in their pants they paid so much for their precious AEM v2 or ProEFI

James/Ken....if there is something you need tested let me know (I'll get that MS3 log to you soon for the Nissan SR20DET CAS on ms3 as well)

I voted running and does what I want, but it really will not be finished until MS3x is available (and I can get rid of my spaghetti mess of jumper wires and hot glue).

Hopefully the updated MS3X samples will ready for initial "internal" testing soon.

We still need the other fifty MS3 owners to vote!

I voted James, but if you didn't intend for Beta testers to vote, maybe I can retract my vote?

Also, I was looking for a "I made so much power with it that I already blew up my motor" option, but it wasn't there. . .

MS3 really is awesome. I'm glad Una and others are having the success with it that I've enjoyed.

Thanks James and Ken! ! !

Just received my second jbperf 4 channel board today. Was running 3.03r 4 channel on a 388 sbc.
I will be running the ms3 this weekend and will start my own thread.
I voted waiting for other parts because I only had 4 channel ignition and injection to work with.
I'd be up and running already if I had a ms3x board also. The sudden release of the MS3 caught me a little un prepared.

Looks awsome though. Made a vortec 1x cam signal mod tonight. Should be a go for saturday on the dyno.

You did right, we are looking to capture the status of everyone who has one.

Hope you get your new engine together soon!
