Please post fresh logs. Turn on the noise filter on crank and cam (but set the filter times to zeros) - this will make the composite log capture both edges of the crank and cam signals.

The cam needs to be set to "Rising" for sure. I can't tell on the crank what polarity is needed, but the compression effect is pretty horrible.

Its a 180 degree flat plane crank which is part of the problem. Whats weird is that the rpms increase with the plugs in, 300 out and 450 in.

Please post a composite log and current MSQ. Difficult to comment otherwise.

I am on the 8 tooth wheel now but there should be 16 teeth between cam pulses not 8 because the crank has to rotate 2 times for the cam to rotate one complete time.

Ill get the logs in a few minutes.

Im switching back to the 24-2 wheel, I think the cam sensor is what is causing the problem based on the above logs.

Are you using resistor type plugs?

I am considering chucking this d*** thing out a window at this point. I cant get it to sync on just crank either. I have been through the harness with a fine tooth comb and have come up dry.

added a 10k resistor and got a new log. Tune is the same, can I add a 10k resistor on the cam sensor?

Well its sort of running, for whatever reason the sync loss issue still happens every once in a while but not while its running, the logs show sync loss but a lot of the time the engine is fully stopped then develops a rpm value on the log but not on the actual engine. The other sync losses are just the engine coming to a stop which makes sense.

Now onto more pressing matters, what the heck is going on in with the rpm fluctuation here?

I see you are running AlphaN for load, but when at only 1.8 TP I am seeing RPMs above 2000 so thinking you are getting some air in from somewhere? That could be why your revs are swinging so much?

I checked for leaks and couldn't find anything, I did some searching and made some changes and here is what I have now, The logs show some weird stuff going on. The seq pw will go along at a reasonable rate and then shoot up for no reason that I can see, the spark advance will go along reasonablly and then fall by 10 degrees or so then slowly climb back up again with no sign or reason.

See what you can, I need to get this thing to where it will start and idle around 1500 rpms without having to mess with the throttle.

I altered the timing map at the bottom end and it seemed to make the engine more stable but I am still getting huge rpm swings with no obvious reason.
