Oil Temperature using non-GM coolant temp sensor

I have a Datsun 280Z, ITB / turbo charged. I'm currently using the stock coolant temp sensor with the following data used to set the response curve:
Bias resistor: 2490 Ohm
82 degF = 1804 Ohms
150 degF = 430 Ohms
178 degF = 261 Ohms
I'm looking to add an oil temp sensor using the same sensor and (possibly) bias resistor. I saw that under the generic sensor inputs, you can use the same transformation as the coolant temp sensor.
My question is, how will using these parameters affect the accuracy of the temperature readings of the oil which can be considerably hotter than the coolant?
Should I use a different bias resistor and transformation?
