Re: Ms3 with ms3x k24a2 engine (from acura tsx)
OK, from those logs I see that the crank is 12+1 and the cam is 4+1.
Please attach your current MSQ and a matching datalog if you can.

Ok, here you can see the variator retardes de camshaft just at 5600 rpm without any reason, then at 7k rpm it just does't work until de rpm are below of 7000.

Re: Ms3 with ms3x k24a2 engine (from acura tsx)
You don't appear to have calibrated the min/max values of the VVT outputs.
There's no output configured for cam 1?
PT6 (Datalog in) as the second cam input has a known frequency limit - you either need to remove the capacitor C12 on the MS3X card or use input PT4 instead. That probably explains the flat-lining VVT2 at high RPMs.
There've been some VVT code changes along the way that might help, so I would suggest that you try the latest pre-1.4 beta development code too.

Re: Ms3 with ms3x k24a2 engine (from acura tsx)
Ok there isn't an output for vvt1 because this engine has only one variator (in the intake camshaft), the main cam sensor is in the exhaust camshaft.
I'll upadate the firmware and remove de capacitor in few hours.
But do you know why the vvt1 angle spikes??
Thanks

It is probably reading the +1 tooth. However, as you aren't using VVT1 then it is irrelevant.Barton wrote:But do you know why the vvt1 angle spikes??

ok, that means the MS does not use the vvt1 angle to compare it to the vvt2 and calculate the vvt2 duty?jsmcortina wrote:It is probably reading the +1 tooth. However, as you aren't using VVT1 then it is irrelevant.

I can't use COP as ignition (I'm using wasted COP), Would this +1 tooth be the problem?jsmcortina wrote:It is probably reading the +1 tooth.James

VVT1 angle is tracked against VVT1 target and is controlled by VVT1 duty.Barton wrote:ok, that means the MS does not use the vvt1 angle to compare it to the vvt2 and calculate the vvt2 duty?jsmcortina wrote:It is probably reading the +1 tooth. What happens when you try to run COP? Attach a datalog and MSQ and description in words.I can't use COP as ignition (I'm using wasted COP), Would this +1 tooth be the problem?jsmcortina wrote:It is probably reading the +1 tooth.James
This topic has been running for such a long period of time that I don't recall the specfic details of the wheel decoder without checking into it all.

Re: Ms3 with ms3x k24a2 engine (from acura tsx)
when you select COP mode the engine only makes backfires and never starts.

Sounds like 360 deg out of phase. I'll send you a test code with the phase swapped.Barton wrote:when you select COP mode the engine only makes backfires and never starts.

Hang on...
the MSQ has "Honda TSX/D17" mode selected, not the "Honda K24A2" mode that I added for you ?!?!
Please confirm why that's the case.

Ok, I can't remember why I'm using that code, but I can try again with the k24a2 code to let you know.

I'm trying to use the k24 code on MS3 1.4 but I keep getting an error when I try to enable VVT. Msq is attached.
Thanks

K24A2 wasn't allowing VVT. I'll send you a test code by email. You may need to reconsider your outputs due to hardware PWM constraints.

Re: Ms3 with ms3x k24a2 engine (from acura tsx)
hello, I have the k20 running well but I'm using the vvt output to drive the vtc solenoid, and the mitrous 2 output to activate the vtec solenoid, so, how can I do to use the vtec activation parameters and the table choice's source by the vtec (vvt on/off)??
another thing, is possible to have two vvt intake tables? like the hondata ecu has? (vtec on/off)
Ms3x 1.4.1

thanks

I would use a "generic PWM" setting to activate the VTEC solenoid and the VVT settings for the VTC.

yes, I have no problem activating the vtec, the problem lies in dual map source (vtec on/off), how would the ms know when to switch from ve1 and ign1 to ve3 and ign3??Matt Cramer wrote:I would use a "generic PWM" setting to activate the VTEC solenoid and the VVT settings for the VTC.

I don't use table switching with VTEC tunes myself.
