With MS2 the readings are accurate. I'm happy with it.
With MS3 it seems that the readings are inaccurate at all.
Even the RPM is not reading right. It's sluggish.
The MAP, CLT and AIT are not right too. I don't think the
data in MS2 are the same. Only the baudrate.
Using IQ3 with MS3 is frustrating.

Doesn't the racepak talk to Ms through serial? I read that the AIM MXL strada dash logger talks via can, so that may be a better option.

I have a Racepack IQ3 reading data from the MS3pro.

I am not seeing any lag in the rpm or any other sensor. It works fine.

But the serial connection is not ideal, and If I could do it again I would go with the AIM mxl, because of the CANbus connection.

The AIM compatible ECU page shows MS2/3 and Microsquirt are hooked up thru the CANbus.

Check for yourself in the AIM InfoTech manuals above.

thanks my friend, now I have cleared my mind about dashboards and AIM seems to be the best as I see.

I believe he's using older firmware before the new and more robust serial protocol was put in place.

Racepak is now working on a CAN adapter that gets around the problem while freeing up the serial port for tuning.

aha that explains my problem.
so he uses TX and RX on the db9 instead of canH and canL?
I might have to use the same method until I get the can working.
do you know if TX or RX are high or low?
I'm new at this but I'm trying to learn :)

It is a totally different wiring and messaging system.

True CAN support between Racepak and Megasquirt is in the works and hopefully should be working really soon.

I have found in a manual that can brodcasting looks like the right thing to use, but I doesn't have the same menus as the manual said.

Am I running whit the wrong version of tunerstudio? I have V2.6.14
or is it the old tunerstudio?

I'm getting very confused... I would pay for someone to tell me how people makes it work with ms3, and what i should do to make it work..

or if I should wait a couple of weeks and wait for a can unit?
It is one of the few things left on my car, and I want to out and ride :D

the only info I got from the Swedish people who works with engine management systems is that I should buy a new ECU. but I like MS...

can I change my firmware to an older version so I can run it then?

the thing that bothers me most right now is that the dealer who sold me my "haltech racepak IQ3" told me it would work just fine with MS3. but I cant confront him if I don't have any more info about this.

again thanks for all support, Håkan
