Full Sequ, cam sensor problem, any help ?

Post by NiceMan »

I try get Full Sequ. to work, i install "cam" sensor, modified one:

http://riceracing.net/Gallery/displayimage.php?pid=959

I remove 3 pins so left has 1 pin = Mind at its give one pulse every cam turn but something is wrong, TS say "cam problem" or similar in red box indicator
Anybody can say what is problem? Sensor is too weak?

How about a picture of the cam wheel and sensor? Those may be in that gallery, but I don't want to go through 198 pictures to find it...

The composite log is showing false teeth - you should be getting a single green tooth for every 720deg of crank, you seem to be seeing 5 pulses???

Try adjusting the pots on the MS3X card while watching the composite logger if you can. (Watch out for short circuits!)

billr - that picture he linked WAS the picture. A modified dizzy on a 2 litre pinto with a VR sensor.

Cam sensor is in photo, this is Ford, orginal there has 4 "pins" but i cut 3 from them so its need give only one pulse every cam turn.

This has one photo from orginal sensor system what i use.

Looking at your picture, i would grind off the nubs that are left where you cut the three pins and make it the same radius as the wheel. It might be picking up a signal from the jagged metal that is left sticking out.
Just a thought.

Okay, I see now that it is a dizzy, but by the time I enlarge it enough to see anything it is blurry. I still feel good pictures will always help.

Today i get it work =) What is best setup to Full Seq...?

Now i have:
Alternatin whit 2 sqruits per cycle

ITs better use Simultaneous whit 1 or 2 sqr...?

Fuel is Fully Sequential

Spark/coil: Coil on Plug(I have 4 coil)
Duel wheel with missing tooth

I have 2 liter 4 sylinder motor.

The MS3 code actually ignores the "number of squirts" setting when in full sequential.
Select either 1-sq simultaneous or 2-sq alternating to get the correct dutycycle displayed.

Did you dis-connect the two DB37 connectors to open it up and peek? Check those two on the harness very carefully, that's most likely what you disturbed to magically "heal" it.
