JP8 question
Hi, to be clear on this, if JP8 has the jumper in place the ecu will expect a ground for a signal right? if not installed it will expect a 12v signal?

Re: JP8 question
No.
If JP8 is in place the input won't work.

Firstly I have no idea about these MS and haven't even connected one wire after reading 25 hours worth of information about wiring up the MS into a vehicle, but would like to clarify what you have said.
The MS3 manual says, JP8 is jumper for a pullup on the "Nitrous in" input. Normally the nitrous system expects a 12V input here and the jumper should be omitted. If re-using this input for a ground-swiching input then install the jumper.
Just in relation to the last part of that sentence If re-using this input for a ground-swiching input then install the jumper, I think you are saying with a jumper in place that this input wont work yet the manual says it will work if you fit the jumper. I'm very confused sorry. My MS3x has a jumper in place, but I will never use Nitrous and would like to have this port available for a possible switch if need be. So do I leave the jumper in place?
I hope this hasn't come across rude at all, I'm just going crazy trying to get me head around all of this. I still don't know if some of the circuits/pins on DB37 are inputs or outputs.
Thanks, Kevin (Dumb arse when it comes to this stuff)

Re: JP8 question
Leave the jumper off.
You can only use the jumper as a ground-switch input if you re-write the firmware.

Re: JP8 question
Thanks James,
so I guess that means leaving the jumper would affect all the additional switch inputs, not just the nitrous input (25).
Cheers, Kev

Re: JP8 question
No, as the manual says, it only impacts the nitrous input. However, just remove it and throw it away or something.Camo wrote:so I guess that means leaving the jumper would affect all the additional switch inputs, not just the nitrous input (25).

Re: JP8 question
Just to be clear jp8 is a 12v input and jumper should be tossed to the inner fires of Mordor.
right?
right?
Re: JP8 question
The next question then becomes, Why is JP8 populated with the header pins?
