Ms3 turns on then off after a couple secs
Car ran great then just wouldn't start and I turn it on and randomly it will come on for a few seconds then turns off and gives me this message. "Error reading data from after 4 attempts. Error message returned: Serial failure, unable to get all pages of data after multiple attempts. Application will now go offline. To attempt to go back online ... Blah blah" any idea I'm so lost double checked ground and power all is good.

Does this problem happen only on the car, or can you duplicate it on a Stim?

I don't have a stim but after I posted last night I unplugged the ecu and gave it a visual and found nothing. Plugged it back in and it was fine so I'm lost now.

Are you using the USB or serial port?

The cable may need some shielding.

Curious here......
Are you saying the MS itself, turns off or you loose comms?

No, but it could cause a loss of communications.torquefreaks wrote:the usb cable for tuning could cause the ms not to turn on?
You may want to try reloading firmware using the boot jumper first, though. I've seen that revive a loss of normal communications before. If this works, try loading your last known good tune file and see if this brings it back to normal.

Re: Ms3 turns on then off after a couple secs
The way I read the first sentence is that the MS3 itself is shutting off (or at least the processor is no longer communicating). Since the FTDI chip on the MS3 board is powered from the USB cable, it makes sense that the PC software is declaring the MS3 "offline".
What doesnt make sense to me is how the USB could cause the MS to not allow the vehicle to start. If that were true I would expect that by simply unplugging the USB cable the vehicle would work as before.

I read it as TunerStudio was getting a garbled signal and going offline while the MS3 was (apparently) still powered up.

Re: Ms3 turns on then off after a couple secs
Even with the usb cable unplugged it still wouldnt turn on the ms3 was just not turning on sorry for the confusion, tuner studio wasnt communicating and ms3 wasnt on because the car was no longer priming or starting. Havent had any troubles since just unplugging the harness ad reinstalling. dyno tunes yesterday 390whp/407wtq
