Remember that the input capture edge won't necessarily be the same on the stim as on the car.

James, I do not exactly understand what your saying or how I should react to it. It seems to be something to keep in mind in the event it will sync on the stim but not the car.

All of this was on the stim.

To wrap up the issue for others that may face the same problem:

Found the problem lies in Tuner Studio. The dashboard will show "Sync" only in the default dashboard. I suspect MegaSquirt is actually syncing in the other dashboards, they just do not indicate it. I have been in contact with Matt about this issue, he sent it on to the Tuner Studio support group. So far, it seems to be a dead issue.

Currently, the engine is running and everything seems to function correctly, using the default dashboard.

One thing that wasn't quite clear - did it show RPM on the other dashes while also showing not synced?

I think you are confusing two concepts:

1. Megasquirt having or not having RPM sync.
2. TunerStudio displaying or failing to display a dash gauge called Sync. (Perhaps it shows as a dash indicator with a red line through it?)

Whether TunerStudio knows the name of the dash indicator does not influence whether or not Megasquirt has RPM-sync.

Yes, I understand that concept. Note I said it was a Tuner Studio problem. But it is my understanding that Tuner Studio is MegaSquirt's link to the outside world I had no reason to not believe Tuner Studio.

My concern is why did the optional dashboards give a faulty reading? Is there a problem that will bite me in the butt as I get further into tuning? Needless to say, at this point I have no idea what I can believe.

Ignorance breeds suspicion.

The name of the dash indicator was changed and it would appear that the optional dashboards were not updated to use it.

It is a display issue only. It has ZERO impact on the running of the engine.

When a gauge or indicator has a red circle with a slash through it, it means it is not operating.

You can correct it by right clicking on it and selecting a valid indicator.
