Re: Connecting to MS3X
Have you gone through the serial loopback tests etc. that are in the serial setup page in the manual?

Yes, I downloaded CDM 20814 setup.
That's when I got com 2 and 3.
Will not connect through TS using a new car project.
Earlier using the mini terminal in TS I got a return echo on com 3 now itis not working.

Re: Connecting to MS3X
What is the actual COM port of the USB-serial ? The manual page shows how to find it through Device Manager.

Re: Connecting to MS3X
Made some progress.
Uninstalled TS, shut down and restarted computer, installed TS from online down load.
Port check opened com3.
The mini terminal in TS returns an echo.
Connecting through ms3loader_win32.exe
No connection is made.
Connecting through TS new car project.
No connection is made.
One more thing port check is connecting through com3.
Device Manager is set at com4. When device Manager is set to Com3
no connection is made.
Anyone what is my next move.

Re: Connecting to MS3X
Do the responses change if you power up the MS3 with the boot jumper in place?

Re: Connecting to MS3X
This sounds like the issues I was having when I didn't have the ftdi drivers installed.... I could see the port but it would not comm with the MS3, would not loadfirmware...
Re: Connecting to MS3X
Yes, FTDI Drivers are installed, See post #5S.Bretz wrote:This sounds like the issues I was having when I didn't have the ftdi drivers installed.... I could see the port but it would not comm with the MS3, would not loadfirmware...
laptop connected to ECM with USB A-B cable.
The driver opened the com port
The Port Check 2.1
opened com 3
mini terminal in TS
echos back
The ms3loader_win32.exe can not find an open port or connected ECM
Start a new car project in TS can not find the ECM

Re: Connecting to MS3X
I will load it on my desk top see what happens.
Would sure like to have MS installed on the lap top for on the road tuning later on.
Loaded MS on the desk top.
Connected with USB A-B
Port Checker found and opened com5
TS mini terminal did not echo
ms3loader_win32.exe did not connect.

Re: Connecting to MS3X
Does the desktop have a DB9 serial port? If so, try it.

Re: Connecting to MS3X
This is most odd - "portcheck" and the loader are almost the same code as far as serial comms are concerned.Ollie8974 wrote:Port Checker found and opened com5
ms3loader_win32.exe did not connect.
Please run the loader again and use debug option #3, this will spew out lots of serial debugging information.
Please upload a screenshot of what it says during probing.
